Major-General Ilgar Rza oglu Abbasov

Head of the State Agency for the Protection of Strategic Objects of the Republic of Azerbaijan 

Abbasov Ilgar Rza oglu was born on April 11, 1975 in Nakhchivan city of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic. He graduated from the Faculty of Law of Nakhchivan State University.

On 25.11.1996, he was accepted for permanent service in the Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Thus, he worked in the Prosecutor's Office of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, Lankaran District Prosecutor's Office and Sabail District Prosecutor's Office.  Also, he worked in responsible positions in the General Prosecutor's Office and Baku City Prosecutor's Office as an assistant to the prosecutor and prosecutor of the department, including as an assistant to the Prosecutor General, as the Deputy Director of the Anti-Corruption General Directorate with the Prosecutor General, and as a Baku city prosecutor.

By the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated August 05, 2014, Ilgar Abbasov was awarded the special rank of state judicial adviser of the III degree (major general of justice).

During the period of his work in the prosecutor's office, he was awarded many times for his impeccable service, and on 28.09.2018, he was awarded the III degree order "For service to the country" by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

On July 15, 2022, by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, he was appointed to the position of the head of the State Agency for the Protection of Strategic Objects of the Republic of Azerbaijan and was conferred the highest military rank of  Major General.
